Why do we need to do fundraisers?

The chapter sponsors several awards and events both on base and in the local community. Below you find just some of them:

• Senior NCO Induction, Seminar and Ceremony
• NCO Induction, Ceremony
• Picnic for the developmentally challenged
• E4 and Below Christmas party
• Wreaths for Memorial and Veterans Day at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
• Visits to the Audie Murphy VA hospital
• Junior ROTC awards, 20+ awards and banquets
• Adopt A Highway, picnics, snacks and drinks
• Enlisted Widows Fund
• Judson GED program
• RAFB Family Services Volunteer Program
• Schertz Adult Education
• Two $500 scholarships, and we're adding a third next year
• Spouse Appreciation Day
• Bob Carter Golf Tournament
• USO Golf Tournament
• Veterans Day Parade
• Veterans Administration Volunteer Escorts Program
• Community College of the Air Force graduation program
• RAFB Family of the Year

There are many more activities that we sponsor, and each one takes money. Without fundraising activities like Retama, we would not be able to support the base and community as much as we do.
